Thanks solved! however similar problem with the layout paths, it is only 
adding 

Vendor_App_Example_Layout
Solar_App_Base_Layout

to stack, your Solar_Controller_Page::_setLayoutTemplates() method comments 
say it should add Vendor_App_Layout as well, but it does not.

Do you have a quick fix :-)
