I couldn't keep it in sync with my projects, I mean, I never remembered. Sorry.

Some time ago I thought to suggest to move Solar-talk to a Google
Group, not only because of the search functionality but also because
other benefits: nice browsing, possibility to use it as a forum, good
visibility, no maintenance, no server usage...

jQuery general list was moved to a Google Group including all its
archives. Yes it is possible, although I'm not sure how (I could ask).
For them the main issue was server usage; the list is very busy and
there are thousands of members, and their server was not enough / they
wanted to be free of maintaining the list.

It may have some drawbacks too; but I think it would have more benefits.
