Agreed that "rip off" *is* strong; let's say "borrowed" or "inspired  
by". ;-)

And we at Solar make sure to credit everyone, at least in the  
comments or change notes, who had anything to do with particular  
pieces of code -- even if only so we can blame them later.  ;-)
