I'll wait a bit. Jack has just released a beta 2:

Nested layouts will be certainly possible to build using the Layout
object. I'm afraid to change our API too often and will do it
preferably once - when the javascript layout library is more settled.
Also, I'm settling the whole thing in my mind. :-)
