This is maybe a little off-topic:

After Clay mentioned the YUI stuff I changed my app's layout to the
yui-t4 layout. And I think it works great! The only problem there is
that if you want to change the widths you have to know what to put in
your own css file, which is not so obvious. My "master" layout file is
now only 25 lines long (and the <head> is still hardcoded), and I just
include _header.php, _footer.php and the layout_content in it. I think
with those YUI templates we could create really solid, simple layouts
for Solar. At least you could copy&paste an existing layout to make
your own if none of the layouts fit your needs.
